Stephen King has come up with a new campaign slogan for Trump

TwitterFacebook

Another day, another fiery Trump burn from the King of horror’s Twitter feed.

Pretty much ever since Trump began campaigning, Stephen King has been tweeting about him. He hasn’t let up. At this point he tweets about the President several times a week.

And yep, you guessed it — he isn’t exactly Trump’s biggest fan.

His latest tweet about the President, though — which King shared on Monday night, and which has since been retweeted over 11,000 times — feels more like a message of hope.

Donald Trump’s campaign message in two words: Be afraid.
My campaign message in two words: Be brave.

Stephen King just tweeted his reaction to ‘The Haunting of Hill House’

TwitterFacebook

Okay, fine, I guess I’m going to have to watch The Haunting of Hill House.

Ever since the nightmare-inducing trailer came out I’ve been half-intrigued, half-wary (I’m embarrassingly easy to scare when it comes to supernatural, jumpy stuff). But now Stephen King has waded in, so I guess that seals it.

On Tuesday night, the King of horror posted the following tweet.

THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE, revised and remodeled by Mike Flanagan. I don’t usually care for this kind of revisionism, but this is great. Close to a work of genius, really. I think Shirley Jackson would approve, but who knows for sure.

‘Pet Sematary’ trailer is here to prove ‘It’ was no fluke

TwitterFacebook

Stephen King adaptations are on a roll, clearly.

It was one of the top-grossing releases of 2017, closing out the year at seventh overall despite the fact that it released months after most of those ranked ahead of it. The reason? It was great.

This first trailer for Pet Sematary — adapted from King’s 1983 novel (which was already a 1989 movie) — is here. And friends, let me tell you: It is creepy as hell.

If you somehow haven’t been spoiled on this story’s wild ride, try to avoid reading anything before the latest adaptation’s April 2019 release. To this day, Pet Sematary remains one of King’s most surprising stories. Read more…

Stephen King uses a film quote to make his feelings about Kavanaugh very clear

TwitterFacebook

People across the world tuned in to watch Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and Brett Kavanaugh give their testimonies in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

And all across the world, people were tweeting their reactions.

Stephen King was among them. And he made it very, very clear who he was supporting.

Her testimony is terrifying and heartrending.
She says they laughed while It was happening.

Stephen King may just have invented the perfect car

TwitterFacebook

When it comes to writing about cars, Stephen King has form.

Christine. Buick 8s. Those trucks that come alive and terrorise people trapped in a rest stop. The list goes on.

Admittedly most of those wouldn’t be vehicles you’d be particularly keen to encounter IRL. But King’s latest invention, which he tweeted about on Sunday, sounds significantly friendlier.

I would like to have a Mood Ring car. On days when I feel depressed, it would be blue. When someone got a better review than me, it would be green. On happy days, it would be all the colors of the rainbow and no cop would give me a ticket.

Stephen King has strong words following Trump’s tweet about Omarosa

TwitterFacebook

You only have to take a quick glance at Stephen King’s Twitter feed to know that he’s no fan of Donald Trump.

But a recent tweet from the President — in which he referred to former White House aide Omarosa Manigault-Newman as a “crazed, crying lowlife” and a “dog” — has angered the horror master more than usual.

Here’s the tweet Trump posted on Tuesday, in advance of Newman’s tell-all book Unhinged being released.

When you give a crazed, crying lowlife a break, and give her a job at the White House, I guess it just didn’t work out. Good work by General Kelly for quickly firing that dog!

Ewan McGregor talks about starring in the upcoming sequel to ‘The Shining’

TwitterFacebook

Ewan McGregor may have taken a while off work, but his next project is set to be a big one — he’s starring as a grown up Danny Torrance in Doctor Sleep, an adaptation of Stephen King’s 2013 sequel to The Shining.

“Well it’s very faithful to the book, the script,” Ewan McGregor tells Stephen Colbert five minutes into the clip above, when asked what he can say about it. “If you’ve read the novel, that’s the story we’re going to tell.”

That one’s set to start shooting this September, and in the meantime McGregor’s promoting Christopher Robin, in which he stars opposite Winnie the Pooh. Read more…

Stephen King uses a George Orwell quote to destroy Trump and Putin

TwitterFacebook

When it comes to taking down Trump on Twitter, Stephen King regularly employs his full bag of writer’s tricks to make sure the task is carried out as efficiently as possible.

Sometimes, though, all he needs is a well-placed quote.

Following Trump and Putin’s summit in Helsinki earlier this week, the horror master took to Twitter to quote George Orwell.

George Orwell on Trump and Putin, in 1945: “The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

Young Bev passes the red balloon to Jessica Chastain for ‘IT’ sequel in perfect first look

TwitterFacebook

The Loser Club never looked so cool.

A new image shared on Twitter by Jessica Chastain captured a beautiful passing of the torch — er red balloon — between Sophia Lillis, the young star behind Beverly Marsh in IT: Chapter One, and her grown up counterpart for IT: Chapter Two.

It’s a tantalizing first glimpse at the follow up to the creepy-beautiful horror hit of 2017. The first movie ended with the group of ’80s misfits making a blood pact to return to Derry if Bill Skarsgard’s Pennywise ever resurrected again — as he has been want to do every twenty-seven years. The actor playing Henry Bowers in the second ‘IT’ movie has been revealed

TwitterFacebook

Henry Bowers may not be many people’s favourite IT character, but he’s still a pretty important one. And as anyone who’s read Stephen King’s novel will know, his role in the second film is likely to be almost as big as his role in the first.

Anyway, it looks like we now know who’ll be playing him.

On Monday, Variety published an exclusive claiming Teach Grant, who recently appeared in Netflix’s Altered Carbon, will be playing the adult version of the school bully.
