There have been a bunch of Breaking Bad compilations, edits, and parodies on YouTube in the 10 years since the show started, and there will likely be many more to come.

They’ll have a hard job outdoing the video above, though.

The one-minute recap, created by Esther Bellido, is essentially a very condensed version of the entire show — only in an animated, side-scrolling form.

It’s kind of like if Mario and Lugio had worked as meth dealers instead of plumbers. Read more…

Why you should watch ‘Mary and The Witch’s Flower’ this weekend

Recently, it’s felt almost like our duty to live in a world devoid of magic. When everything’s falling apart, there’s this pressure to “live in the real world” — to replace all wonder and hope with horror and pragmatism.

Unless you’re watching Mary and The Witch’s Flower, which blurs the lines between fantasy and realism, turning the everyday into an enchantment. And luckily the US dub, featuring voice talent like Kate Winslet and Jim Broadbent, premiered just in time for the weekend.

When animation legend Studio Ghibli appeared to be shutting down in 2015, it felt like our world lost a whole lot of magic. Studio Ghibli feature films just weren’t financially viable anymore. There was no longer a place for those awe-inspiring, imaginative, heartfelt, and painstakingly hand-drawn worlds that defined so many of our childhoods. Read more…

Donald Trump is going to hate the first teaser for Stephen Colbert’s ‘Our Cartoon President’

Stephen Colbert’s latest TV project, Our Cartoon President, will debut on Showtime in February. 

A sneak preview on Jan. 28 will give us our first glimpse of the “tru-ish misadventures of the 45th President of the United States,” executive produced by Colbert and the Late Show‘s Chris Licht.

The show preview will be available online and On Demand for Showtime subscribers on Jan. 28, and focus on a reality only slightly altered from our own. 

According to a Showtime press release, the show “examines the quintessentially Trumpian details of the presidency and his most important relationships, and no one is safe – from his close family and confidants to key political figures from both parties and members of the media.” The full season will comprise 10 episodes.
