‘Avengers: Infinity War’ breaks $2 billion at the box office

In the month and a half since its April 27 release, Avengers: Infinity War has grossed over $2 billion worldwide – and it’s the fourth movie in history to do so.

The only other films ever to earn more than $2 billion in the global market are Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avatar, and Titanic (which released multiple times to hit that number)Infinity War is the only superhero movie to pass that benchmark and the second Disney property – it’s also the only summer release; as TheWrap notes the others all premiered in December. Chris Hemsworth warns ‘Avengers 4’ will be ‘even more shocking’ than ‘Infinity War’

While many of us are still talking through the traumatic ending of Avengers: Infinity War with our therapists, Chris Hemsworth is now warning that we don’t know the half of it. Literally.

“If you were shocked by [Infinity War], I think the second one is even more shocking, for other reasons entirely,” Hemsworth said in a recent Esquire interview. Avengers 4 — or Infinity War Part II — comes out in May 2019. 

He went on to say, “That’s what kind of blew me away the first time I read both scripts, is how they managed to orchestrate so many different characters but give them each their own separate shot and moments, and have it be elevated and feel fresh and unique—not just like a messy, thrown-together assembly of these guys.” Read more…

Never before has a tiny talking tree been so divisive.

Ever since Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn tweeted back in February that the first Groot “is dead”, Twitter has been in a frenzy. And things only got worse when Gunn tweeted even more (spoilery) Groot details off the back of Avengers: Infinity War on Sunday night.

Well, it’s time to end the debate once and for all. On Monday, botanist James Wong posted the following, impressively scientific breakdown of exactly how Groot biology works…

The destroyer of worlds himself is coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale on Tuesday.

In a special, limited-time mode, Fortnite players will have the chance to wield the Infinity Gauntlet and become Thanos in Battle Royale, giving them the ability to wreak havoc on their enemies, Entertainment Weekly reported Monday.

According to EW, the limited-time mash-up between Fortnite and Avengers: Infinity War will work similarly to standard 100-player, free-for-all, last-player-standing mode, except each game will contain one Infinity Gauntlet.
