Hold on to your gills! More Aquaman previews are within fin’s reach.

Entertainment Weekly just posted the latest preview of the underwater superhero flick set to release this December. And it comes with a lot of new information. 

This image of the Fisherman King’s palace reveals one of seven kingdom’s the film will visit, as well as how Djimon Hounsou, Natalia Safran, and Sophia Forrest will appear as the Fisherman royal family.

Incredible ‘Batman Ninja’ anime trailer imagines the dark knight as a samurai

The second trailer for Batman Ninja arrived Tuesday and the anime movie looks even better than we could have imagined.

This trailer — the first one in English — gives a better glimpse at what Batman Ninja is about: Batman as a samurai working with a handful of familiar allies including Robin, Catwoman, and Nightwing to stop the Joker. Except everyone has been sent back in time to feudal Japan thanks to Gorilla Grod’s time displacement machine.

Batman Ninja comes out digitally on April 24 with a physical release on May 8. Read more…

The former Boy Wonder needs your help, apparently.

It was announced not so long ago that a live-action Nightwing movie was in the works, with Lego Batman director Chris McKay at the helm.

For those of you unfamiliar with the project it is about the character of Dick Grayson — the original Robin who eventually breaks away from Batman’s frankly troubling habit of child endangerment to become his own superhero. You guessed it: Nightwing.

At some point in the young progressive’s education, you realize that the word “normal” is code for “straight and white.” Everything else — foreign cinema, LGBTQ romance, minority-led TV and films, etc. — must be explicitly labeled for its otherness. So it should come as no surprise that the CW’s new drama Black Lightning is being marketed to television viewers for, well, it’s blackness.

But for the CW and Black Lightning, the challenge to provide representation for a whole community is a badge of honor and crucial part of the show. And it tackles that challenge head on, and does so much more. Read more…
