People who live on the internet love nothing more than confessing our love for those who spend their lives largely offline. 

We see them as higher beings — practical demi-gods who are blessed to have never even heard of Eric Garland, people who’ve successfully transitioned beyond the 2016 Democratic primary, saints who would never, ever watch Tide pod porn.

Few online people will publicly acknowledge, however, the consequences of that idealization. But there comes a point in any relationship between online people and their largely offline partners when the latter finally reveals their devastatingly poor taste in their internet — and oh, how it burns.  Read more…

Finally, we can party: Australia’s first same-sex marriages just happened

Although marriage equality is now legal in Australia, most LGBTQ couples need to wait until Jan. 9 before they can do so.

Amy Laker and Lauren Price jumped the gun by being one of the first same sex couples to be married in the country, with the pair getting hitched in Sydney on Saturday.

Price and Laker received an exemption as their families had travelled from Wales to be there for the ceremony, according to SBS News.

The couple planned to marry at the British consulate, which used to be one of the only legal options for LGBTQ couples if they wanted to marry in Australia.  Read more…

Needless to say, it was the stuff of fairy tales.
