TwitterFacebook

If you don’t trust America’s political system, you have plenty of reasons not to — and you’re not alone.

In a video by RepresentUs, an organization aimed at ending corruption in politics, actress Jennifer Lawrence lays out a step-by-step guide that covers what’s wrong with America’s corrupt political system, but also how to fix it. Her confidence and revolutionary spirit resemble that of her fictional Hunger Games character Katniss Everdeen, but the issues she talks about are very real.

Political conversations about passing laws, financing campaigns, and lobbying can sometimes feel complicated, boring, or pretentious. But this video is anything but, thanks to the colorful graphics and silly banter between Lawrence and Josh Silver, director of RepresentUs. Whether you’re conservative, liberal, or somewhere in the middle, you’ll want to watch this comprehensive yet easy-to-follow video on how to pass election and anti-corruption laws, and ultimately, give the power back to the people. Michael Cohen’s evidence against Trump is getting compared to those long-ass CVS receipts

TwitterFacebook

After years and years in the spotlight, CVS receipts have finally met their match: Michael Cohen.

As Trump’s former personal attorney testified against Donald Trump before Congress on Wednesday morning, the American people came to realize he had receipts for daaaaaaays.

Cohen presented a number of documents to Congress — including damning financial statements, news clippings, tweets, and more — Twitter users began to realize Cohen’s receipts might rival the ridiculously long ones CVS gives its customers.

Watch the powerful moment Cohen stared directly into the camera and slammed Trump

TwitterFacebook

The testimony from Trump’s former personal attorney and fixer Michael Cohen in front of the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday morning has been explosive, but one thing has left a lasting impression.

At least twice during his opening statement, Cohen stared directly into the camera to address Trump directly. The first time, Cohen gazed into the camera and stated, dramatically, “I am no longer your fixer, Mr. Trump.”

Donald Trump Jr. and Eric are rage-tweeting Michael Cohen’s testimony — except for one key moment

TwitterFacebook

The Trump boys are back… on Twitter, that is.

On Wednesday morning, as Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, testified before Congress, two of Trump’s sons decided to stand up for their dear old dad on social media.

As Cohen discussed several allegations against the president — from racist comments he’s made in private to his connections with Russia — the boys furiously rage-tweeted to defend their father’s honor.

It seems Trump Jr.’s been glued to his TV from the start, comparing Cohen’s testimony to a “break-up letter” and quote-tweeting the GOP. Read more…

Facebook and Instagram ban UK far-right figure Tommy Robinson

TwitterFacebook

Facebook and Instagram have banned Tommy Robinson, former leader and founder of the far-right, anti-Muslim group English Defence League (EDL).

Facebook said in a blogpost that they have removed Robinson’s pages on Facebook and Instagram, which is owned by Facebook. The profiles have been taken down for “repeatedly” violating the community guidelines by “posting material that uses dehumanizing language and calls for violence targeted at Muslims.”

“Our rules also make clear that individuals and organizations that are engaged in ‘organized hate’ are not allowed on the platform,” Facebook added. “This is true regardless of the ideology they espouse.” Read more…
