In addition to their many other wonderful attributes we are pleased to report that John Legend and Chrissy Teigen also have excellent taste in television shows.

On Monday night, the couple shared on Twitter that they’re fans of the beloved NBC comedy, The Office. And not just like casual fans, they really know their stuff. :’)

It all started when Twitter user @hanny_tie asked if John Legend ever invested in wuphf — the website/messaging service invented by B.J. Novak’s character Ryan Howard.

Episode 9 of The Office‘s seventh season, titled “WUPHF.com,” follows Ryan the former temp’s new business venture.  Read more…

‘The Office’ stars mourn Hugh Dane, who played Hank the security guard

Hugh Dane, who The Office fans will remember as Hank, the lovable security guard, died at age 75, Variety reported on Monday.

Though Dane passed away on May 19, an upcoming June 9 service in the actor’s honor has prompted former co-stars from The Office – including Rainn Wilson, Mindy Kaling, Angela Kinsey, Kate Flannery, Andy Buckley, and Steve Carell – to post to Twitter in his memory.

“RIP Hugh Dane, aka Hank the security guard. He was one of the greats. So kind, funny, talented. We will all miss him,” Wilson tweeted, linking to the Los Angeles Inner City Cultural Center, where donations can be made in Dane’s name. Read more…

‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ is another testament to the brilliance of Mike Schur

TwitterFacebook

The frenzy over Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s cancelation at Fox and subsequent pickup by NBC may have caught some corners of the industry off guard. But it shouldn’t have.

Creator Mike Schur, who is currently helming The Good Place and also worked on The Office and Parks and Recreation, is one of the most beloved names working in television comedy today, with good reason. And Brooklyn Nine-Nine is part of his tradition of joyful, sentimental, and down-to-earth comedies.

The power of the Schur comedy is that, even while watching the Brooklyn Nine-Nine protagonist go to prison or The Good Place characters get tortured for all eternity, the audience rarely feels anxious or hopeless. These shows are beacons of light in a depressed TV and news landscape.  Read more…

The tweet in question is right here.

Seeing Dwight in person, the texter seems to have asked him for a photo to send to her brother. And Rainn tweeted that he refused the pic after she admits she’s not an enormous fan of him. Read more…

‘A Quiet Place’ mashup makes Dwight from ‘The Office’ hilariously terrifying

TwitterFacebook

Well, that didn’t take long.

A mashup trailer of A Quiet Place and The Office (U.S.) named “A Dwight Place” was uploaded to YouTube on Tuesday. At time of writing it has over 320,000 views, and rightly so — we didn’t think it was possible to make Dwight’s cousin Mose more terrifying than he is in The Office. Read more…
