TwitterFacebook

Your 21st birthday may have been the best you’ve ever had (so far), but it probably doesn’t compare to Lorde’s.

The singer celebrated one of the most important years of her life with thousands of the most important people in her life — her devoted fans. During a break between songs, the crowd joined together for a round of “Happy Birthday”.

Happy 21st, Lorde! And may you continue dance awkwardly into your new year!

David Harbour has a perfect idea for a Hopper/Steve team-up in ‘Stranger Things 3’

TwitterFacebook

Stranger Things MVP Jim Hopper is many things — Police chief, chain-smoker, Jim Croce enthusiast, goofy dancer, dad/daddy, one half of TV’s hottest ship, our unabashed fave — but however you choose to define him, the root of our obsession can be traced back to the man who plays him, David Harbour, who is, if anything, even more entertaining than his iconic character.

Harbour readily admits, “I’m an old person, so I don’t really know what a meme is,” but ever since Stranger Things 2 debuted, he’s consistently been winning the internet (and our hearts) through his playful fan interactions, self-deprecating Instagram throwbacks and willingness to provide us with Joyce/Hopper fanfictionRead more…

Everyone can just go home now because British police have won at 280-character tweets

TwitterFacebook

So yesterday Twitter doubled the character limit, upgrading it to 280 and causing a collective nervous breakdown, hot takes, anger, and daring experiments.

Hate it or love it, the feature has certainly its silver linings. And British people, with their deadpan humour, know how to make the best of it.

This, for example, is how Sussex Police decided to use its #280characters:

Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! Nee-naw! 🚓👮‍♀️👮🚓 #280characters

It really sounds like this Christmas advert contains a NSFW insult to Paddington bear

Christmas adverts are a weirdly big deal in the UK. They’re supposed to be nice and sentimental so as to make cold British hearts grow three sizes, and then go out and buy stuff. But this year, the supermarket chain M&S’s advert has hit an unfort…
