Tesla hides an epic Easter egg inside of its Model Y event invitation

TwitterFacebook

Elon Musk and Tesla have proven once again why they are the ultimate trolls.

Tesla fans hoping to get a sneak preview of the upcoming Model Y electric SUV, which will be revealed on March 14, were treated to a spectacular Easter egg when they tried to run a teaser image of the vehicle through an image editor.

At first glance, the teaser image sent to event attendees like YouTuber Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) doesn’t reveal much about the Model Y.

So Brownlee ran the cloaked image through iOS’s built-in image editor to see if he could uncover any details by brightening up the picture. Read more…

There’s a secret dog hidden in your YouTube video timeline

TwitterFacebook

YouTube hasn’t ever been one to skimp on the Easter eggs, but this is a new one for me.

It’s hidden away on the timeline that charts your progress through a video. If you highlight that timeline and hold left — either left on an attached game controller, or the left arrow key — in certain versions of YouTube (I’ll get to that in a minute), you can summon a dog.

It takes a bit, so be patient. If you’ve watched any of the video, it’ll rewind first. Then you want to keep holding left for another 10 or 15 seconds. Eventually, a little, brown dog, possibly a Corgi, will trot across your timeline, from left to right. Read more…

Netflix has a cool easter egg to salute Marvel great Stan Lee

TwitterFacebook

The death of Stan Lee has been a tough one for fans, but Netflix has a neat way to honour the comic book genius.

If you search for “Excelsior!” on the streaming platform, you’ll be presented with a list of Marvel titles that are available on Netflix.

Obviously what TV and movies are available to you depends on your location, but my results included the Daredevil series, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Jessica Jones, and The Defenders, among other titles in “Stan Lee’s Universe.”

Go to your @netflix. Give it a shot. In the words of @TheRealStanLee: “’Nuff said.” pic.twitter.com/JBT39Uzc3P

‘The Office’ fans are going to love this brilliant Easter egg

TwitterFacebook

The Office has been off the air since 2013, but to this day fans are still uncovering hilarious easter eggs hidden in the show.

The latest discovery, recently shared to r/DunderMifflin, was found in “Garage Sale,” Episode 19 of Season 7 of the series.

In the episode, the office and warehouse crew gather together to host a public garage sale. But as Reddit user u/kiiirsten points out with a screenshot, one of the items Michael attempted to sell was a glorious nod to a fan-favorite episode: “Dinner Party.”

Michael’s garage sale table featured many treasures — from his neon beer girl sign and a Slip ‘N Slide, to a tambourine, a festive hat, and more. But as the still shot below shows, he also tried to sell HIS BROKEN PLASMA TV. Read more…

The mildest of spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War follow.

There is a lot to take in throughout Avengers: Infinity War‘s two hour and forty minute run time. You might even actually be so physically exhausted by the amount of stuff on screen — from stars to set pieces and enough action to blow your head clean off — that we suggest you consider taking a nap midway through.

However, be sure to schedule that brief sensory overload shut down for any time that is not the one moment you cannot miss in Infinity War: There’s an Arrested Development easter egg, and no, it isn’t the cornballer fryer.

Hidden message in Tesla Model 3 shows Elon Musk is proud of his team

TwitterFacebook

Although he’s described the manufacturing process as “production hell,” Elon Musk is apparently quite pleased with the outcome of the Tesla Model 3, his company’s newest and most affordable electric vehicle.

The Model 3 is the first truly affordable (i.e. about $35,000) electric sports sedan from Tesla, one that’s significantly smaller and cheaper than the high-speed luxury Model X and Model S vehicles.

After a series of well-publicized production setbacks, the first Model 3s are now rolling out to consumers (as opposed to just Tesla employees), and the auto blog Electrek has found an Easter egg — or hidden message — in the car’s software. Read more…

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ trailer gives a heartbreaking hint about what happens after ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

TwitterFacebook

Thor: Ragnarok had a pretty downer ending for such an upbeat film, and Avengers: Infinity War doesn’t look much cheerier.

Marvel’s mighty box office smash ended with Asgard obliterated and its surviving citizens crammed onto a stolen spaceship, headed toward Earth and an uncertain (if hopeful) future — until an ominous looking vessel loomed overhead in a post-credits scene

It doesn’t take a nuclear physicist with seven PhDs to surmise that said loomer is probably Thanos, which is bad news for the embattled Asgardians — especially if these scenes in the new Infinity War trailer are anything to go by.  Read more…

Did you catch this awesome ‘Civil War’ easter egg hiding in the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ trailer?

TwitterFacebook

The long-awaited trailer for Avengers: Infinity War has finally landed, and we already have plenty of questions for Marvel’s mega superhero mash-up (like what’s up with Thanos’ face?).

But the trailer may have given us an answer for one of the lingering queries left over from Captain America: Civil War — how will Captain America and Iron Man reconcile after their bitter breakup over Bucky

The ideological and emotional divide was pretty heartbreaking, but Civil War did offer a ray of hope between Steve and Tony in the form of a fittingly retro flip phone that Cap left for his billionaire buddy, in case Tony decides he ever needs to get the band back together. Read more…

All the ’80s references you might’ve missed in ‘Stranger Things 2’

TwitterFacebook

Warning: This post contains spoilers for Stranger Things 2.

It was the 1980s – you kinda had to be there. But thanks to a deep reservoir of references and Easter eggs in the second season of Stranger Things, it’s almost like you were.

Since its first season, Netflix’s spooky series has taken a healthy dose of John Carpenter-style horror (channeling the atmospheric, synth-scored vibes of films like The Thing, The Fog and Starman), added a hearty dollop of Spielbergian, suburban kid adventure (notably E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial, Poltergeist and The Goonies) and blended it all with the era’s key pop cultural touchstones in gaming, music and fashion. The resulting ’80s flavor never overwhelms the main course of story and character, but makes the meal even tastier.  Read more…
