Pornhub offers 110 gallons of lube to the city of Philadelphia for its dry pole problem

The Philadelphia Police Department announced it won’t grease up the city’s light poles for the Super Bowl, so Pornhub is offering them 110 gallons of lube. 

Earlier this month, the city of Philadelphia decided to grease up some of the city’s light poles with Crisco in an attempt to thwart any unruly sports fans from climbing up and inevitably injuring themselves following the NFC Championship game. 

Apparently, the Crisco didn’t work all that well — instead, it became a challenge for anyone daring to test their luck at the poles. Also, Crisco is flammable, so the whole thing posed a serious safety hazard. Read more…

Amazon’s Alexa is rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl

We’re just a few days away from the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots facing off in Super Bowl LII, and one of tech’s most famous gadgets has apparently already picked a side.

According to a little video making the rounds, Amazon’s Alexa, like most of America, wants the Eagles to dethrone Tom Brady and the Patriots. 

Indeed, we confirmed the message on our own Alexa and her hot take on the defense — “I’m flying with the Eagles on this one because their relentless defense and the momentum they’ve been riding off their underdog status” — isn’t a bad one considering how the Jacksonville Jaguars managed to keep the Patriots in check for most of the AFC Championship game.  Read more…

The last time the Philadelphia Eagles were in the Super Bowl, we only just started using MySpace and the iPod was still some newfangled thing.

So it’s no wonder the city was extra careful in the lead up to the Eagles NFC Championship game against the Minnesota Vikings, because a win — taking the team to the Super Bowl — would have the place in raptures.

Last week, businesses were also warned to put everything they owned inside and keep security cameras on. Then there were the crews dubbed “Crisco Cops” who greased poles to stop people from climbing on top of them.  Read more…
