‘Billionaire’s son’ Bobby Misner knows YouTube doesn’t like him

TwitterFacebook

Bobby Misner knows people don’t like him, and he is more than OK with it — he’s still raking in views.

The 23-year-old YouTuber went viral in late 2018 when his video “LIFE of a BILLIONAIRE’S SON” became the subject of popular reaction vloggers. It’s something between a travel vlog and a movie trailer, flaunting a rich kid’s glamorous, privileged life across yachts on tropical beaches and helipads in major cities. Hate him as much as you want, but the video has more than 4.6 million views and Bobby now has 188,000 subscribers.

Here’s the TL;DR so you don’t have to watch all eight minutes and 31 seconds of millennial flexing: Bobby was born into a financially comfortably family in Australia, but it all changed when he was 15, because his father sold his company for $300 million. From there, he bounced between schools, partied with celebrities, and lived the life of the nouveau riche.  Read more…

Sinkhole opens up a block from the White House. Yes, another one.

TwitterFacebook

It figures that in the midst of the longest government shutdown in American history, the earth would literally open up a block from the grounds of White House.

Yet another sinkhole — a depression in the ground caused by a collapse of land — has opened up in Washington D.C., this time just a block from the presidential residence.

Opening up on Tuesday afternoon, the “large” sinkhole was reported by D.C. Police as being the reason for road closures on 17th Street NW between C Street and E Street NW.

The highly anticipated DC chapter isn’t due in theaters until next month—Dec. 21 to be exact—but those who caught early screenings are promising a good time for future audiences.

A standalone spin-off of The Justice League, the Jason Momoa-starring saga follows the titular Aquaman as he attempts to quell tension between the residents of the Seven Seas and us land lubbers. He is joined in his quest by Mera, played by Amber Heard.

Netflix’s ‘Maniac’ is seriously messing with people’s heads

TwitterFacebook

Netflix’s Maniac, starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill, is here to fuck you up.

The 10-episode series is being compared to all kinds of pop culture cousins, from Inception to Westworld to Legion (Superbad jokes are in the rearview now)Variety called it one of the year’s best shows, while a more critical New Yorker review still praises the show’s “alluring technique.”

We can’t quite explain it without giving things away, but please enjoy the reactions of everyone along for the ride.

Maniac on Netflix is instantly iconic. Classic TV experience akin to watching Mr. Robot or Twin Peaks for the 1st time. 3 episodes in. Really hope it keeps the high bar.

Twitter accuses Vanity Fair of sexism after New Year’s resolution video for Hillary Clinton

TwitterFacebook

A word of advice: Be very, very, very careful when making New Year’s resolutions for other people, lest you come off as rude.

Vanity Fair‘s The Hive learned this lesson the hard way after they published what was meant to be a humorous video about New Year’s resolution suggestions for Hillary Clinton.

Maybe it’s time for Hillary Clinton to take up a new hobby in 2018 pic.twitter.com/sbE78rA5At

Everyone thinks the Magic Leap One headset is ugly as sin

TwitterFacebook

Magic Leap‘s first mixed reality headset, the Leap One, is coming in early 2018. It looks pretty damn neat, assuming it delivers on everything it’s promising — and as long as you can get over its weird design.

Reactions to the headset have been split down the middle with some people digging the steampunk-inspired design and others mocking its ugliness.

It’s always difficult to judge a product before we’ve actually had a chance to try it in person, and the Leap One is no different.

Personally, I don’t hate the design, and I’m less concerned about how it might look on my face because I’d probably be using it indoors, protected from public embarrassment and the judgement of my cooler and totally stylish friends. Read more…
