Ruth Bader Ginsburg finally shares what she thinks of Kate McKinnon’s SNL impersonations

TwitterFacebook

Ruth Bader Ginsburg isn’t one to ignore a good meme or joke, especially if it’s about her.

The Supreme Court justice revealed her thoughts about the “Notorious RGB” memes long ago. But now, while in conversation with NPR’s Nina Totenberg at Sundance Film Festival to promote her documentary RGB, Ginsburg shared a few thoughts on Kate McKinnon’s hilarious SNL impersonations and much more.

According to Variety, Ginsburg admitted to referencing McKinnon’s bits while at work. “I would like to say ‘Ginsburged’ sometimes to my colleagues,” she said, before offering praise to the SNL cast member. “I liked the actress who portrayed me.” Read more…

SNL’s impression of Theresa May is hilariously on point

TwitterFacebook

She sounds more like the Queen than Theresa May, tbh, but nonetheless Kate McKinnon delivered a pretty epic parody of “Maybot” on Saturday Night Live.

Robotic and expressionless, McKinnon’s May delves into the British prime minister’s Twitter spat with Donald Trump — and it’s just brilliant.

“I’m not afraid of a little social media fisticuffs. And I’ve never felt more alive,” she remarks.

“Theresa May” also claims she put Trump “on blast” after he retweeted three unverified videos from far-right group Britain First.

“Savage. Flaming emoji. I am practically a troll now,” she says, noting that the “bitch tagged the wrong Theresa May”, a reference to Trump mentioning another Theresa May on Twitter.  Read more…

Tragedy strikes the American Girl Store on ‘SNL,’ but everyone is fixated on this one dude

TwitterFacebook

Saturday Night Live checked in with shoppers after an underground gas main exploded at a Phoenix American Girl Store, and boy were they shaken up.

Reporter Ben Hartley (Kenan Thompson) spoke with customers Debbie Pritchard, a mother shopping with her daughter (played by Lady Bird’s Saoirse Ronan,) and Thomas Dean (Mikey Day) a grown-ass man who was just, you know, shopping for a doll. Alone.

They recounted the horrific experience of the explosion, explaining what brought each of them to the store to begin with.

Though Dean claimed he was “buying a gift” his weird doll obsession wound up overshadowing the explosion, and it wasn’t long before Hartley uncovered the real story: Grown Man Frequents American Girl Store Alone with Beloved Doll. Read more…

‘SNL’ reveals what it’s like to be a woman with a blistering sexual harassment song

A cheery bubblegum SNL music video starring Cecily Strong, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, and host Saoirse Ronan looks like it’ll be a delightful sendup of Katy Perry circa “Teenage Dream.” But listen to the words, and it’s anything but.
“Hey there …

Alec Baldwin’s Trump is haunted by Michael Flynn in ‘SNL’s’ Christmas Carol’ cold open

TwitterFacebook

Saturday Night Live decked the halls with the ghosts of Donald Trump’s presidency in tonight’s yuletide cold open, and Alec Baldwin was right there for the Dickensian reckoning.

There’s evidently not much to celebrate around the White House this Christmas, what with former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn pleading guilty to lying to the FBI

Kellyanne Conway, expertly played as ever by Kate McKinnon, tried to lighten the mood, reminding the president of his many accomplishments, like passing the GOP tax bill and… passing the GOP tax bill. Read more…

Chrissy Teigen has a SNL sketch idea based on all these sexual misconduct allegations

TwitterFacebook

Chrissy Teigen has an idea up her sleeve from all the trending headlines these days.

She tweeted a sketch idea for Saturday Night Live today, inspired by the ongoing sexual misconduct allegations in Hollywood. The idea was probably inspired by today’s big firings, but any of the big shake ups that have happened over the past few months would fit into it.

‘SNL’s hilarious ‘Mortal Kombat’ character needs to be a real thing

TwitterFacebook

This weekend’s Saturday Night Live included a sketch that revolved around a competitive fighting game tournament clearly based on Mortal Kombat. And with it, the SNL team introduced a hilarious new character.

The new character, Boo Boo Jeffries (played by the hilarious Tiffany Haddish), doesn’t really fight so much as do little dance moves associated with powerful artists like Beyonce and Rihanna. Ironically, one of her weaknesses is fighting — not great when you’re playing as a literal fighter in the fictional game Death Fight 12. Unfortunately for Kenan Thompson, he was stuck with her.

As a bonus, Pete Davidson’s character in the sketch — SonicGoo — has a similar alias to one of the best Mortal Kombat competitors in the world: SonicFoxRead more…
